We have a fun short week coming up. We will learn the basic history of Thanksgiving and focus on what we are thankful for. As part of this theme, we will be making a friendship salad on Tuesday, November 26th. I am asking every child to bring in 1 cup of cut up fruit to add to the fruit salad.
On Wednesday November 27th, the AM class will be taking part in a pep rally, please have your child wear gray on that day(our class color for this event). They have earned it by displaying good bobcat behavior. Both the AM and PM classes have been working hard on being kind and showing good bobcat behavior and in December we will have a "fun day" in class to celebrate their hard work. More info will go out on this day in December.
Parent/Teacher conferences will start on December 2nd. I will send a note home asking for a few available times and dates soon. Please keep your eye out for that in your child's folder.
Winter weather has started. Please send your child to school in a warm coat, hat, and mittens. When snow falls, please send your child to school daily with snow pants and boots-we will try to head outside daily. Outside play is very important. If any family needs assistance in getting snow clothes, please contact me privately. We are happy to help any family in need.
Kindergarten does not have a lot of homework but they do have daily homework. The daily homework is to read for 15-20 minutes. If your child brings home a reading bag, please do this bag daily. Your children are starting to be able to read on their own so this time can be split with someone reading to them(still very important) and them reading to you. Other things that can be worked on at home-letter identification, letter sound identification, rhyming, number identification to 100, and counting by 1's, 10s and backward from 20.
Your children have been working hard and forming strong friendships. I am enjoying my time with them. Thank you for sharing your children with me!
